Build your child’s vocabulary with library books and free learning games

Does your child often visit a library? If so, are there English books to read there?

When helping your child choose a book, it’s usually best to avoid stories that are very difficult. The most important thing is that they should enjoy reading.

What's it made from?

Many children’s books have audio recordings that your child can listen to as they read, and most of these books also have pictures to help them understand the story.    If your child enjoys stories, the Storyfun books (published by Cambridge University Press) use stories to help children learn and practise for the Cambridge English: Young Learners exams.

Here is an online reading activity in which your child can try to find objects in a picture of a library.
